Last week, we practiced staying steady when growth felt slow.
In Week 5 of the Chill Capy Goals Journal, children learned that even when they "water" their goals and try their best, progress can still feel quiet. They practiced calming frustration and trusting the process.
This week, something shifts.
Instead of only waiting…
We begin noticing.
Because sometimes growth doesn’t look dramatic —
but understanding what’s happening can feel just as rewarding as seeing results.
🌿 Roots Grow First

Above the soil, the sprout looks small.
It hasn’t stretched tall yet.
It doesn’t look impressive.
But underneath, the roots are growing first.
Stretching.
Strengthening.
Preparing.
Week 6 helps children understand that effort and learning are like roots.
Even when results aren’t visible, growth is still happening.
Waiting doesn’t mean nothing is happening.
🔎 A Growth Detective Mom
One of the most engaging parts of Week 6 is the Growth Scavenger Hunt.
Children become little detectives.
They search for tools that help growth — like seeds, water, sunlight, and patience.
They also notice small “pests” or distractions that can slow growth down.
Instead of feeling frustrated, they begin asking:
What helps me grow?
What makes growth harder?
This simple activity builds awareness.
And awareness builds confidence.
🌱 Looking Closer at Themselves
Week 6 invites children to look at their own effort the same way they looked at the garden.
Not for perfection.
But for small changes.
Maybe they:
• Tried again
• Practiced a little longer
• Stayed calmer than before
• Understood something new
These are roots.
And roots matter.
✍️ The Growth Signature
At the end of Week 6, children sign their Growth Signature.
Not because they achieved something big.
But because they noticed.
They noticed effort.
They noticed learning.
They noticed themselves growing.
Signing their name gives them ownership.
It gently says:
“I see my growth.”
And that realization is something worth celebrating.
🌟 Why This Matters

Image Prompt:
When children only celebrate big outcomes, they can become discouraged.
But when they learn to notice small growth, something changes.
They build quiet confidence.
They begin to trust the process.
They understand that growth is not always loud.
It is steady.
And meaningful.
Because realizing you’re growing
can be something to celebrate, too.

Coming Next: Week 7
Now that children can notice growth…
The next question becomes:
How do we keep it going?
In Week 7, we return to habits —
but this time with ownership.
Children will refine their planner, revisit their dream, and take clearer next steps forward.
Because growth isn’t only something we notice.
It’s something we choose.
Stay calm. Stay kind. 🦫
